Remington No. 1 New Model Revolver was developed by William S. Smoot while employed by Remington. The five shot, spur trigger, .30 caliber rim fire cartridge revolver was introduced in January 1876. A distinguishing feature of the revolver is that the barrel and frame are forged from one piece of steel.
